Sacramento Gold FC has added two players -- midfielders Edric Soltero and Cesar Mendoza -- to its roster for the 2016 NPSL season.
Soltero is returning for his third season with the Gold. The midfielder and occasional defender was a key part of Sacramento's West Region championship team in 2014. Soltero started strong in 2015 before he missed significant time due to a lower body injury. He was able to return in time for Sacramento's playoff run, coming off the bench in critical moments.
Mendoza is joining the Gold for the first time after four years with Sacramento State University. One of only three players to play all 18 games this season, Mendoza assisted on game-winning goals against local rivals Pacific and UC Davis. The Lincoln High School alum will now look to continue his success on the Capital Christian turf.
