Changes announced for Golden Gate Conference

The National Premier Soccer League has announced major changes to the Golden Gate Conference, beginning with the 2017 regular season.

Napa Valley 1839, an expansion franchise, will be joining Sacramento Gold FC, East Bay FC Stompers, CD Aguiluchos USA, and Sonoma County Sol FC as a member of the Golden Gate Conference. Napa will play their home games at Memorial Stadium, which hosts Napa’s two largest high school teams, Napa High and Vintage High.

Napa will take the place of Real San Jose, which will no longer compete in the NPSL. After 10 years in the NPSL and many memorable battles with the Gold, San Jose will move to the United Premier Soccer League.

Each member of the Golden Gate Conference will play every other team three times in the 2017 regular season, for a 12-game full schedule. Sacramento Gold FC's 2017 schedule will be announced soon.
