Gold to face Reno 1868 in Preseason Friendly

RENO, Nev. – Sacramento Gold FC is set to face its second United Soccer League (USL) club this preseason, with a matchup with Reno 1868 on Tuesday, February 27. Kickoff will be at 1 p.m. at the Moana Springs Recreational Complex soccer fields in Reno.

Reno 1868 is entering its second season in its history. Its inaugural run was impressive, finishing in third place in the USL's Western Conference and finishing with the fourth-most points out of any team in the league. However, Reno was eliminated in an upset by the OKC Energy in the first round of the USL playoffs.

This will be the Gold's second preseason friendly against a USL club, having narrowly lost to Sacramento Republic FC earlier this month. It will also be Reno's second matchup with a NPSL club this preseason, following its 4-2 win over the East Bay Stompers this past weekend.

The match is open to the public.
