PETALUMA, Calif. – It was an extremely disappointing way to end the 2018 NPSL campaign Saturday, as a greatly outnumbered Sacramento Gold FC suffered an embarrassing defeat to the rival Sonoma County Sol at Casa Grande High School.
Due to a number of circumstances, Sacramento was only able to field seven players. Sonoma did not let up (as they are entitled to do) and continuously attacked. Full time was called about three minutes into the second half, when one of the Gold players could not continue due to cramps. The final score read 9-0 in favor of the hosts.
Despite the frustrating conclusion to an already down year, Sacramento Gold FC will work to fix what went wrong in the offseason and return to glory in 2019!
